Tourist in Paris “raped by five men” – just days before the start of the Olympic Games

An Australian woman visiting Paris ahead of the Olympic Games was “gang raped by five men” in the French capital.

The 25-year-old explained to the police that she had to flee from the gang to a nearby kebab shop, with her dress twisted backwards and “partially” torn.

She claimed she was attacked by the quintet around 5 a.m. on Saturday and that the group also stole her phone.

The woman sought refuge in Dounia, a Lebanese restaurant near the Moulin Rouge cabaret theater. She was described as “disoriented and unable to speak a word of French.”

After the owners of the kebab shop called the emergency services, the woman was taken to Bichat Hospital.

According to Clinton Maynard, 2GB’s Olympic reporter, the 25-year-old was scheduled to fly back to Australia the day after the alleged attack.

It is believed that she was in the French capital to attend the Fête de Musique music festival.

The Paris public prosecutor’s office has launched an investigation into the alleged attack and will review video surveillance in the area.
