Teenager shot dead in Houston, another injured in similar incident | State

HOUSTON, Texas – Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a young man Tuesday that occurred around 6:55 p.m. at 4200 Belle Park Drive.

The identity of the 15-year-old victim is pending confirmation by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences, according to a press release from the Houston Police Department (HPD). HPD patrol officers responded to a call from Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital, where the young man arrived with gunshot wounds. Doctors later pronounced him dead.

A preliminary investigation revealed the victim was shot in the 4200 block of Belle Park Drive and taken to the hospital by private vehicle. The suspect is described only as a Hispanic male, 15 to 17 years old.

Officers received information about another crime scene in the 6000 block of Rogerdale Drive, where a second 15-year-old male was found with gunshot wounds. Houston Fire Department paramedics arrived at the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital in stable condition.

The HPD homicide squad said it is currently believed that both incidents are related and the investigation is ongoing.
