Man shot in road rage incident in Fontana on June 27 | News

A 52-year-old Fontana man was shot and killed in a road rage incident on June 27; a suspect was arrested, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.

At approximately 4:30 p.m., officers from the Fontana Sheriff’s Station responded to a report of a shooting in the 14100 block of Arrow Route in the unincorporated western area of ​​Fontana.

When officers arrived, they found the victim, Roger Albarran, in his vehicle with a gunshot wound. Albarran was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The sheriff’s homicide unit responded and took over the investigation.

Investigators found that Albarran was traveling northbound on Etiwanda Avenue in a Honda Civic when a road rage incident occurred in which an individual, later identified as Abel Nunez-Alejandre, driving a GMC Yukon, committed an assault. During the incident, Nunez-Alejandre, a 28-year-old Eastvale resident, allegedly fired a handgun at Albarran. Albarran was struck by gunfire, lost control of his vehicle and collided with a parked car.

Nunez-Alejandre was tracked down and arrested for murder. He was taken to the West Valley Detention Center, where he remained without bail.
