Russians withdraw fighter planes from attacked Mosdok military airport

The Russians have withdrawn almost all of their fighter jets from the Mozdok military airport, which was recently attacked by drones.

The military airport without aircraft was recorded by the Planet Labs satellite on June 12.

A satellite image of the aftermath of the attack on the military airport was also released. It shows a trail of fire caused by the crash and explosion of the drone.

However, the impact site is 400 meters from the nearest aircraft parking area.

The picture from June 12 also shows that at least some aircraft disappeared from the parking lot of the Mozdok military airport after the drone attack.

The only “plane” visible in the satellite image is a painted one, created to mislead observers of the base.

It is also worth noting that on June 11, a Su-34 fighter-bomber took off from this base and crashed. The plane crash occurred near the village of Gorny Dzuarikau, where locals heard an explosion at night.

As previously reported, a group of attack drones attacked a Russian military base near the city of Mozdok in North Ossetia.

This is the first time an attack on this air base has been reported. Russian troops use it in the war against Ukraine.

The distance from Ukraine to this Russian aviation facility is about 1000 kilometers.

It is likely that the Russian military facility was attacked by Liutyi drones. On that day, Russian Telegram channels published photos of the wreckage of the allegedly Ukrainian Liutyi drones shot down in North Ossetia.

On June 11, Russia acknowledged that Ukrainian drones had shot down two state-of-the-art Su-57 fighter jets at the Akhtubinsk air base in Astrakhan Oblast.
