Status update on 26 injured in an accident in Camajuaní in which one person died

New details have emerged about the tragic traffic accident This happened on Sunday afternoon in CamajuaníVilla Clara, where one person died.

The incident, in which 26 people were injured, occurred when a Moskvitch collided with a Transgaviota bus travelling from Cayo Santamaria for the Abel Santamaría International Airport.

Henry Omar Perezwho is a communicator and member of the official Cuban Association of Social Communicatorsreported on his Facebook page that the victim (the driver) was traveling alone and died at the scene of the accident.

“Of the 26 injured, only 10 remained in hospital, all without life-threatening condition,” he noted in another post.

He also announced that “all the children involved in the accident (six) are out of danger and are gradually leaving the hospital.”

The deceased was named Rafael and lived in the village of Meneses in Villa Clara.

In the pictures shared on social media, it can be seen that his car was practically destroyed, while the bus overturned and lost all its windshields.

The accident occurred after the Minerva Curvein an area known as Crucero de Carmita.

Although there is no official cause of the accident yet, a social media user claims that the Moskvich veered off the road, the driver tried to get back on the road, lost control and crashed into the almost stationary bus, causing it to overturn.

Initially it was said that one of the injured was in critical condition, but according to Omar Pérez’s update his condition has improved.

The bus was carrying 38 people from a tourist area to the provincial airport. It was not announced in the official press whether there were any foreigners among the injured.

The injured were initially taken to Octavio de la Concepcion Polyclinic in Camajuaní, but were later transferred to the Children’s Hospital and that Arnaldo Milián Castro Hospital in Santa Clara.
