Bronx man charged with violent sexual assault in Melrose, arrested; charged with first-degree rape

A 39-year-old Bronx man has been arrested and faces a slew of charges in connection with a violent sexual assault Wednesday in Melrose.

Kashaan Parks was charged with first-degree rape, assault, strangulation, sexual abuse, public indecency and harassment.

A video later shows the man dragging her by the neck between two cars. According to the police, he sexually abused her there.

The incident occurred near East 152nd Street and Third Avenue in Melrose.

According to the NYPD, the victim was transported privately to NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln in stable condition.

The NYPD says Parks has been arrested five times, including for domestic violence in 2018 and for turnstile jumping in 2013.
