Police release surveillance images of a man after he “sexually harassed a woman” and launch urgent manhunt for the suspect

Police have released surveillance images of a man after a “woman was sexually assaulted” as police launched an urgent men’s action.

A woman reported being the victim of a serious sexual assault in Hyde, Greater Manchester.

Police have now released surveillance camera stills showing an image of a man they believe “may assist with the investigation.”

The incident is said to have occurred on Friday morning around 6:30 a.m.

Officers would like to speak to members of the public who were in the area of ​​Clark Way, Grafton Street, King Street, the pedestrian bridge and the nearby bus stop.

Detective Inspector Andrew Day, of the police’s Tameside district, said: “We take reports of sexual offences very seriously and have carried out comprehensive and thorough investigations since they were reported to us.”

“The woman will continue to be cared for by specially trained officers.
“It is completely unacceptable to target anyone in this way and we are working tirelessly to find anyone who might recognise the man pictured.

“If you recognise him or were in the area yesterday morning at the time of the incident and saw anyone wearing the same clothing, please come forward.

“We want to speak to anyone who may have seen something. It’s not too late to come forward.

“If you live or work near Clark Way, Grafton Street and King Street and have CCTV, doorbell, dashcam or mobile phone footage from this morning, please contact us so we can further reconstruct the circumstances of this incident.

“Please contact us as your help could prove extremely useful. No matter how big or small it may seem, any information is extremely useful.”
