A nighttime incident led to an emergency shelter being set up in Levittown

Many residents in the Levittown section of Falls Township received a message on their phones late Wednesday evening telling them to shelter in place.

LevittownNow.com Readers reported that a text message came in shortly after 11:40 p.m

“Falls Township has issued a protection order due to police operations. Lock all doors and move to a central and safe location away from windows,” the message said.

A follow-up message was sent around 1 a.m. Thursday saying the shelter-in-place order had been lifted.

Police said there had been an incident in the neighborhood and said they would release more information.

Law enforcement sources told this news organization that the incident is related to a domestic incident on Village Lane. A firearm was reportedly used.

According to the sources, officers from Falls Township descended on the Vermillion Hills neighborhood to search for the male suspect.

Neighbors said they saw a number of police vehicles and officers with guns drawn as they searched Vermillion Hills.

As of 8 a.m., it did not appear that any charges had been filed in connection with the incident.
