Documents: Abilene man arrested in SWAT operation and accused of robbing Long John Silvers | KTAB

Samuel Fernandez was arrested during a SWAT operation in south Abilene.

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – An Abilene man arrested during a SWAT operation Tuesday night is accused of robbing a Long John Silvers.

Samuel Fernandez was arrested at a home in south Abilene after a SWAT team deployed several alleys.


According to court documents, Fernandez was a former employee at Long John Silvers on Westwood Drive.

Fernadez’s former co-workers told police he was “not wanted there because he was suspected of stealing money and using drugs at work.”

On Sunday, one of those colleagues saw Fernandez typing something to open the cash register. When he confronted Fernandez, he noticed that he had a knife in his hand and felt fear.

Fernandez was able to take nearly $200 in cash before fleeing the scene.

He was arrested a few days later during this SWAT operation.

Fernandez is currently being held in the Taylor County Jail on $150,000 bail.
