Firefighters said they were called to East Main Street for a reported train fire.

Authorities told NBC Connecticut that a Providence and Worcester Railroad Company freight train caught fire east of the Stamford station just before 11 p.m

Flames could be seen from at least one wagon. All train service on the New Haven line north of Stamford has been suspended until further notice.
