KTRK ABC13 in Houston is seeking an Executive Producer for our growing 24/7 streaming channel and live content distribution touchpoints.

What will you do:

Areas of focus will be the management of our streaming news channel as well as the production and management of all live content.

We are looking for a motivated journalist who understands the changing needs of our audience minute by minute and is able to adapt to meet them. Whether it’s weather or traffic news, breaking news or important investigative work, we are a news-driven organization producing 13 hours of live news a day with hard-hitting information and very little superfluous.

The right candidate has great attention to detail, understands the nuances of every element we broadcast or broadcast and has great technical skills to regularly manage and operate our newsroom production system, alongside our producer/anchors. This manager should also have experience providing hands-on training to those who produce and host live newscasts with limited resources.

Required Qualifications & SKILLS:

Ability to make quick, strategic decisions and work closely with other newsroom and station leaders.

Having a strong, thoughtful yet compassionate voice when making decisions with our team is a requirement.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Top 10 market with day-to-day operations, production and direction of local news broadcast products.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications or a related field or equivalent work experience.
