Scattered rain showers, thunderstorms this afternoon, evening

(KFVS) – Warm, humid and unsettled weather will remain until mid-week before warmer and drier weather sets in.

Isolated showers and thunderstorms are expected in the afternoon and evening.

Most parts of the Heartland are at threat level 1 out of 5 for severe storms.

Some strong storms could bring gusty winds and small hail.

Maximum temperatures in the afternoon will be around 30 degrees and it will be humid with dew points around 21 degrees.

This rainy and stormy pattern will remain with us until about Wednesday night, when a cold, dry front passes through.

The second half of the week and the weekend will be warm and drier with a northwesterly flow pattern.

The humidity also decreases, but the nights are a little cooler.

Rain behind the front is not expected until early next week.
