3 members of Nelons Gospel Group reportedly killed in plane crash in Campbell County

GILLETTE, Wyoming — A plane crash north of Gillette Friday afternoon reportedly killed three members of the popular musical group Nelon’s Gospel Group. Two other people also died in the incident.

The band members killed in the crash are Jason Clark, Kelly Nelon Clark and Amber Kistler. Kistler’s husband Nathan Kistler and band assistant Melodi Hodges were also killed.

According to a statement from Gaither Management Group, which represents the band, the band was en route to a performance on a cruise ship that was scheduled to depart today.

Following the crash, a forest fire broke out in the area and rescue workers attacked the fire from all sides, using aircraft and heavy equipment to contain it.

The cause of the plane crash is still unknown. The story will continue to develop and more details will be announced as they become available.
