Man from Ava sentenced to 58 years in prison for sexual exploitation of children

Ava, MO. – An Ava, Missouri man was convicted in federal court after workers demolishing his former residence discovered images of his repeated sexual assaults on two underage victims.

Harold Lloyd Blair Jr., 67, was sentenced Thursday, June 20, by U.S. District Judge Roseann Ketchmark to 58 years in a federal prison without parole for two counts of sexual exploitation of children.

On December 1, 2022, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department requested assistance from the Southwest Missouri Cyber ​​Crimes Task Force after several printed images depicting child sexual abuse were found in Blair’s residence. During Blair’s interrogation, he admitted to being involved in the production of CSAM and sexually abusing at least two identified victims. Upon further investigation by investigators, they found a computer belonging to Blair that contained approximately 4,700 CSAM files of the identified victims.

This case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Stephanie Wan. It was investigated by the Southwest Missouri Cyber ​​Crimes Task Force, Homeland Security Investigations-Springfield, and the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department.
