Orange City teenager hospitalized after accident

Orange City, Iowa – An Orange City teenager was hospitalized following an accident in Orange City on Monday, June 3, 2024.

Orange City Police report that 83-year-old Ronald Zelewski of Orange City was traveling eastbound on 2nd Street NE in Orange City in a 2016 Chevrolet at approximately 12:10 p.m. They report that 16-year-old Annalise Elliott of Orange City was traveling northbound on Boston Avenue NE in a 2011 Buick.

According to the report, it was determined that Zelewski had disregarded the right of way when entering the uncontrolled intersection and the vehicles collided.

Orange City ambulance took Elliott to Orange City Health System Hospital.

Damage to Zelewski’s Chevrolet was $2,500, and damage to Elliott’s Buick was $2,000.

Zelewski was accused of ignoring the right of way when approaching an uncontrolled intersection.
