Ithaca man arrested after domestic incident and chase

Early Wednesday, Ithaca police arrested Takiem T. Foat after he attempted to break into a home on W. Clinton Street. The victim said Foat broke a window with a handgun. Foat fled when the victim called 911.

When officers arrived on scene, they saw Foat driving by and attempted to stop him. He fled, eventually breaking through a fence between First Street and North Meadow Street. Foat was arrested and faces several charges, including attempted burglary, criminal damage, and reckless driving.

Multiple agencies, including Cornell University Police and the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office, assisted with the arrest. The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact Ithaca Police.
