Police-involved shooting in Henry County under investigation

RIDGEWAY, Virginia. – An investigation is ongoing after a police officer-involved shooting occurred in Henry County on Monday.

Sheriff Wayne Davis of the Henry County Sheriff’s Office said authorities were executing an arrest warrant at 805 Wright Road in Ridgeway for a person wanted out of Henry County, BTW21 reported.

In the interview with BTW21, Davis said that while authorities were arresting the suspect, he pulled out a gun and officers shot him.

According to Davis, he was taken to a medical facility for treatment.

The Virginia State Police are investigating the incident.
