Man from Centre Wellington charged with sexual abuse of child

After a lengthy investigation, Wellington County OPP have charged a 30-year-old man from Centre Wellington with sexual abuse of a child.

According to police, the incident occurred between September 2023 and June 2024 at a house in central Wellington.

The man is accused of three counts of sexual abuse of a person under the age of 16, two counts of sexual harassment and solicitation of sexual contact under the age of 16. The defendant was released on bail.

Police are asking anyone with information about this incident to contact the Wellington County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.

They also remind victims of domestic violence and sexual assault that local support services are available, including Victim Services Wellington and Guelph-Wellington Women in Crisis.
