Suspicious death at Motel 6 in Wethersfield under investigation

WETHERSFIELD, Conn. (WTNH) – State and local authorities are investigating a suspicious death after a man was found dead at a Wethersfield motel this morning.

At 5:53 a.m., a person from the Motel 6 at 1341 Silas Deane Highway called Wethersfield Police to report a dead man.

Police went to room 168 of the motel and found the man dead. The man’s identity is not being released at this time as officers are contacting next of kin.

The Wethersfield Criminal Investigation Department, the State Police Central District Major Crimes Unit and the New Britain District Attorney’s Office were called in to assist in the investigation after “suspicious circumstances” were identified.

The investigation is ongoing. The authorities assume that this is an isolated case and that there is no danger to the public.
