1 dead in house fire in Steubenville

STEUBENVILLE, Ohio (WTRF) — One person was killed in a fire at a Steubenville apartment building Friday evening, authorities said.

Assistant Fire Chief Steven Bowers said the 911 call came in at 10:41 p.m. from North Commercial St.

The fire was confined to the building, which suffered considerable damage.

Other people in the house refused treatment on site.

The Steubenville Fire Department was assisted by crews from Mingo Junction, Wintersville and Weirton.
