Police shoot at stolen Mercedes and arrest three teenagers in Maplewood

MAPLEWOOD, Missouri – Three teenagers are in custody following a frightening confrontation between Maplewood police and a group of suspected car thieves.

The incident occurred around 11:25 p.m. Sunday night in the 7200 block of Zephyr after Maplewood police were notified of a stolen Mercedes in the area.


As two police officers exited their vehicles to investigate the scene, the stolen Mercedes accelerated toward the officers at a high rate of speed, causing them to fire their guns, according to Maplewood police.

As the stolen Mercedes continued down a narrow driveway, it struck a police vehicle, a concrete barrier and several other parked vehicles before crashing into a fence behind a residential building.

According to police, three teenagers were arrested after they tried to flee on foot after the accident. Several firearms were seized at the scene of the accident.

No one was injured in the incident.
