Man allegedly attacked police officers with machete | News

A 22-year-old farmer from St. Ann who allegedly attacked a police officer with a machete was shot this morning.

According to reports, at around 7:30am, a police team went to Knibbs Street in Watt Town, Gibraltar, in response to reports of a man allegedly making a threat.

The team warned the man not to carry out the alleged threat.

According to reports, the man became aggressive, approached the police with a machete and was shot.

The injured person was helped to receive medical attention.

The Brown’s Town Criminal Investigation Department is investigating the incident.

The case is also being investigated by the independent commission of inquiry.
