Blue Point man pleads guilty to hindering investigation into 2018 construction worker death

A Blue Point man has admitted to hindering the investigation of a fatal construction accident in 2018.

Richard Zagger was a foreman at Northridge Construction Corporation in East Patchogue.

Zagger supervised workers building a metal building on the Northridge property.

According to authorities, one of the workers fell from an inadequately secured shed roof and died.

Zagger made false statements and conspired with others to make false statements in order to obstruct the investigation of the accident.

Zagger faces five years in prison when his verdict is announced in October.
