FA Wales President Steve Williams suspended pending investigation

The president of the Welsh Football Association, Steve Williams, has been suspended pending the outcome of the investigation, the governing body confirmed.

No reason was given for this measure, but the FAW confirmed in response to a request from the PA news agency that proceedings were still ongoing.

The news comes as the FAW searches for a new coach for the men’s national team to replace the sacked Rob Page.

Williams, who was elected president in 2021 and has one year left in his term, was involved in the decision to end Page’s term last month.

Williams told BBC Sport Wales: “I cannot comment on that. That is for the FAW to comment on.”
