Woman arrested for attacking police officers in Massapequa

Police say a Long Beach woman was arrested for assaulting a police officer in Massapequa on Thursday.

According to investigators, officers responded to a disturbance at the Boat Yard Bar on Ocean Parkway.

During the investigation, one of the suspects became violent and belligerent and punched an officer in the face.

The officer suffered minor injuries and refused medical treatment at the scene.

Nyasia Coombs-Jones, 27, was subdued and arrested. No other injuries were reported.

Coombs-Jones is accused of assault and obstruction of public administration.
