Manager raped by three boys on the Navigli, the company fires her: “No longer efficient”

A 32-year-old manager from Turin, Victim of a gang rape in a club on the Navigli in Milan in March 2023 was fired by the Dutch-based company she worked for in Assago because she was “no longer able to perform.”

According to La Stampa, the woman was raped all night long after a party by three boys she considered her friends.

The suspected perpetrators were identified and arrested by the police. The victim was treated in hospital. The company she had worked for for three years specialized in trading luxury brands, first showed their support and solidarity : After a six-month hospital stay and psychotherapy, the 32-year-old tried to return to work in September. But She wasn’t mentally ready yet.

On March 11 last year, the company terminated her employment “for good cause.” and offered her 5,000 euros in compensation : “In the interests of greater efficiency – so they say – we have decided to reorganize our activities. In doing so, we are eliminating the position of ‘Service Merchandiser’ that you currently hold and distributing your current tasks among the other employees currently employed by us.”

The employee appealed against the dismissal.

Meanwhile, on January 16, the hearing before the preliminary judge in Milan ended with a sentence of 3 years and 7 months in prison in a summary trial and two charges against the three young people, aged between 23 and 27, accused of sexual abuse by a gang.
