Officers investigate hit-and-run accident that leaves 1 fatality

CLOVIS, NM (KFDA) – Clovis Police are investigating a hit-and-run accident that left a man dead.

Officials say that on Monday, May 6, at approximately 11:17 p.m., Clovis Police dispatch received a call reporting a motor vehicle accident involving a man in the area of ​​7th and West Streets.

According to the control center, the vehicle involved in the accident drove away.

Clovis Police and Clovis Fire Department EMS responded to the scene. Upon arrival, first responders found 73-year-old Vincent Galvan lying in the eastbound lane of 7th Street with serious injuries.

According to officials, Galvan was taken to a local hospital where he later died.

Officials say the motor vehicle involved in the crash was last seen traveling northbound on Hull Street from 7th Street.
