Live: Part of the central line closed after accident on the tracks, two other subway lines delayed

Due to an accident on the tracks, traffic on the Central Line is partially closed this morning (Saturday 20 July).

There is no connection between Leytonstone and Liverpool Street. It extends over six stops (Leytonstone, Leyton, Stratford, Mile End, Bethnal Green and Liverpool Street).

There is also no service from Leytonstone to Hainault, only eastbound. This includes Wanstead, Redbridge, Gants Hill, Newbury Park, Barkingside and Fairlop.

There are significant delays along the rest of the route.

Tickets are accepted on London buses, Chiltern Railways, Greater Anglia and the Elizabeth Line.

There are significant delays on the Bakerloo line between Queen’s Park and Harrow & Wealdstone following a person falling ill on a train in Harlesden. Tickets are valid on London buses and London Northwestern Railway trains. The rest of the line is running well.

There are minor delays on the Victoria Line due to train cancellations.

Closures are planned on the District and Piccadilly lines as well as the London Overground.
