4-year-old girl raped at wedding in Farrukhabad | Meerut News

ALIGARH: A four-year-old girl, who was attending a wedding with her mother in Farrukhabad district, was brutally raped by an unidentified person on Friday night. The incident took place in Kotwali area, where she was found unconscious, bleeding and with scratches on her body near the wedding venue.

She was immediately admitted to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital where she is undergoing treatment.

According to police, the girl disappeared from the banquet hall around 11 pm. Her family started searching and finally found her in a grim condition. The gold locket around her neck and her anklet were missing. The forensic team comprising SP Alok Priyadarshi, ASP Dr Sanjay Kumar, DSP (Mohammadabad) Arun Kumar, Head of SOG Jitendra Patel and Surveillance Supervisor Vishesh Kumar arrived at the scene.

CCTV footage from the banquet hall shows the girl walking out, followed by a suspect. Police raided a nearby settlement in search of the suspect. Three teams were deployed to nab the culprit. “Police have registered a case under relevant sections, including 64 (1) of the BNS and the Pocso Act, in Mohammadabad Kotwali after the girl’s father lodged a police complaint,” said DSP Arun Kumar.
