Police: Shooting in North Las Vegas: 5 dead, 1 teenager seriously injured

Police say a suspect has been identified in connection with a shooting Monday night in North Las Vegas that left five people dead and a teenager seriously injured.

Shortly after 10 p.m., officers responded to a shooting call at an apartment in the 300 block of Casa Norte Drive and found two injured women who were later pronounced dead by paramedics, police said in a statement. The women killed were in their early 40s and late 50s, police said.

Investigators continued their homicide investigation in the apartment and found an injured 13-year-old girl. The child is in critical condition at the University Medical Center in Las Vegas, police said.

Investigators then learned of possible additional victims of the shooting at a nearby apartment and found two women in their mid-20s and a man in his early 20s, all of whom had been shot, police said. Medical personnel pronounced them dead at the scene, police said.

The identification of the five victims and the cause and manner of death will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office, police said.

The suspect was identified as 47-year-old Eric Adams. Adams was tracked down and “no longer poses a threat to the community,” police said.

The police were not immediately available for comment on Tuesday. No further information, including a possible motive for the murders, was available.
