Woman from Macedon arrested for drunk driving after accident in Walworth

Officials arrested a suspect following a car accident in Wayne County over the weekend.

Aubrey Stapleton, 35, of Macedon, was arrested by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office following an accident on Mildahn Road. Officers charged her with drunken driving and unsafe lane change.

Stapleton was driving eastbound when she failed to negotiate a curve and struck a sewer and a utility pole. She sustained non-life-threatening injuries and failed a breathalyzer test at the scene. Assistance was provided by Macedon Police, West Walworth Fire Department and Western Wayne Ambulance.

After being released from the hospital, Stapleton refused a chemical test and was transported to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office. She is scheduled to appear in Walworth Town Court for further proceedings.
