Bridgeton, NJ man sentenced to 10 years in prison for sexually abusing a child

A Bridgeton man has been sentenced to prison for sexually abusing a child for over ten years.

Juan Hernandez-Antonio of Bridgeton, New Jersey, sentenced

The Cumberland County District Attorney’s Office announced Friday that 39-year-old Juan Hernandez-Antonio was sentenced to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to first-degree aggravated sexual assault.

According to authorities, Hernandez-Antonio was charged in April 2022 with multiple counts of aggravated sexual assault, sexual battery and endangering the welfare of a child in connection with “multiple incidents that occurred over a period of approximately ten years.”

At that time, Hernandez-Antonio committed sexual abuse against a child who was under 13 years old at the time the abuse began.

Hernandez-Antonio must serve 85%, or 8 1/2 years, of his sentence before he is eligible for parole. After his release, he will be required to register as a sex offender and will be on parole supervision for life.

The lead investigator was Det. Marna Coyne of the Bridgeton Police Department. The prosecution was represented at the sentencing by Assistant District Attorney Holly Fanelle. The defendant was represented by Christine Long, Esq.
