Shooting at a West Louisville club leaves one dead, another in critical condition

According to the Louisville Metro Police Department, one person is dead and seven others were injured in a shooting early Saturday at a west Louisville club. At around 12:47 a.m., police responded to a report of a shooting just after midnight at the H2O Lounge on the corner of 25th Street and Broadway. There, officers found two people shot. LMPD administered first aid to the first victim they found, a man who had been shot, but died at the scene. The person they found next had multiple gunshot wounds and was taken to UofL Hospital in critical condition with what police believe to be life-threatening injuries. Some time later, while police were still working the scene, they learned that six more victims of the shooting had shown up at local hospitals. Those six victims are expected to survive. LMPD does not know the relationship between the victims, if there is one. LMPD’s Homicide Unit is investigating, but no one has been arrested so far. There, officers found two people shot dead.

LMPD administered first aid to the first victim they found, a man who had been shot but died at the scene.

The person they found next had multiple gunshot wounds and was taken to UofL Hospital in critical condition with injuries that police believe are life-threatening.

Some time later, while police were still working at the scene, they learned that six more victims of the shooting had been admitted to local hospitals.

These six victims are expected to survive.

The LMPD does not know what relationship the victims may have to each other.

The LMPD homicide squad is investigating, but no one has been arrested yet.
