Man arrested in Honduras for sexually abusing his 72-year-old mother

Police in Honduras reported on June 7, 2024 that a 45-year-old man was arrested for sexually abusing his 72-year-old mother in Comayagua, Honduras.

According to reports, the elderly woman called her neighbor on June 6 and said that “her son had beaten and sexually abused her.” She then reported the incident to the authorities.

Police said: “When we arrived at the scene, the victim was found. Scientific evidence and witness statements confirmed that the woman was a victim of sexual abuse and domestic abuse. She was therefore taken to police custody for medical treatment.”

A team of agents from the Police Investigation Directorate, in coordination with the National Directorate of Prevention and Community Security (DNPSC), in the village of Celaquitos, in the municipality of San Jerónimo, in the department of Comayagua, searched for the man. When the man was found, he was immediately arrested.

The man, who reportedly has a criminal record for domestic violence and drug trafficking since 2022, must now face the consequences of his crime in court.

Commenting on the arrest, the National Police said: “It reiterates its determination to continue working hard to ensure the safety of older people and to ensure that those responsible for disturbing their peace are caught and brought to justice.”
