Teen injured in hit-and-run accident in east Indianapolis; IMPD arrests suspect during accident investigation

INDIANAPOLIS – A teenager was injured in a hit-and-run accident in east Indianapolis Saturday night.

Police public reporting systems show officers were first called to the 4200 block of Brookville Road around 9 p.m. to investigate a serious injury crash. Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers at the scene told FOX59 and CBS4 that a young girl had been struck by a vehicle.


Police reported that the teenager suffered several broken bones in the accident. According to police, the driver who hit the girl fled the scene after hitting her.

According to IMPD, the fleeing suspect was eventually arrested. The suspect is undergoing a medical examination as police believe alcohol played a role in the accident.
