SAULT STE. MARIE, MI – A Sault Ste. Marie man has been arrested on child pornography charges.
According to the Michigan State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, 21-year-old Jacob Dumas was arrested for aggravated child sexual abuse, possession of child sexual abuse material and use of a computer to commit a crime.
When police learned that Dumas was viewing files containing sexually abusive material online, they launched an investigation and seized digital evidence during a search of his home.
Dumas was arraigned on July 2 on 10 counts of aggravated possession of child sexually abusive properties and two counts of using a computer to commit a crime.
If convicted as charged, he faces up to 45 years in prison.
