Unity man arrested after allegedly shooting Maine forest ranger

Police arrested a Unity man Monday after an incident that drew a large multi-agency police presence on a section of Route 139 in Unity.

Shortly after 1 p.m., the Waldo County Regional Communications Center was notified that a Maine Forest Service ranger was requesting assistance at 118 Jacy Place in Unity, the Waldo County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.

Jacy Place is a cul-de-sac two miles west of the city center.
