Police officer allegedly attacked by man while making emergency call

BELOIT, Wis. (WMTV) – An officer was allegedly attacked by a man while responding to a 911 call Wednesday afternoon, according to Beloit police.

According to police, officers responded to the 800 block of Oak Street around 1:30 p.m. When police arrived, a man allegedly assaulted one of the department’s officers.

According to the department, a firearm was fired during the incident. The officer and suspect did not suffer any injuries.

The man was arrested, police said.

The incident remains under investigation.
