There is still a risk of thunderstorms this evening

HAZARD, Ky. (WYMT) – Tuesday was another day of highs in the 30s and much-needed rain across the region. Yesterday we got 0.77 inches in Jackson, which is good news, but we still need a little more to make it a surplus for the month.

Headlines:

-Thunderstorm probability increases on Wednesday

-Weak cold front passes through

-The return of the upper 80s.

DISCUSSION:

After seeing a little more rain, albeit light, move through Eastern Kentucky on Tuesday, we will continue to monitor the next few days as rain and thunderstorm chances remain in the forecast. The good news is that those who saw the rain got well soaked. Unfortunately, not everyone saw the rain, so there are some places that are still dry. The good news is that we still have rain chances in the forecast for the next few days.

LOOKING AHEAD:

Isolated showers and thunderstorms are forecast for the next few days. There is a slight risk of excessive rainfall today, as well as Wednesday and Thursday. As in recent days, local flooding cannot be ruled out. It will remain warm and humid, with maximum temperatures between 27 and 30 degrees.
