Buffalo Wild Wings takes on the red lobster

Buffalo Wild Wings makes a snide remark alluding to Red Lobster, which recently filed for bankruptcy.

Buffalo Wild Wings took to social media to not only poke fun at Red Lobster, but also to offer a promotion that might ring a bell among restaurant connoisseurs.

The restaurant’s post features a promotion strikingly similar to the one the seafood chain enjoyed before filing for bankruptcy. Buffalo Wild Wings will offer a $19.99 promotion on unlimited boneless wings and fries on Mondays and Wednesdays for restaurant guests. The caption reads, “Please don’t put us out of business,” alluding to Red Lobster’s demise..

The Buffalo Wild Wings spin-off promotion will run for a limited time and will be subject to restrictions. Due to fluctuating prices for bone-in wings, customers can only order boneless wings under the promotion. THE offer is also limited to one person, prohibiting customers from sharing this offer with each other, according to NBC 5 DFW.

Before declaring bankruptcy, Red Lobster ran a promotion called the “Endless Shrimp” campaign, which ultimately ended in failure for the seafood chain, as previously reported The Dallas Express. The offer generated popularity among their customers, but even after increasing the price of this offer from $22 to $25, Red Lobster was forced to file for bankruptcy.

Red Lobster has closed dozens of Locations across the country, including a few in Dallas. With increasing costs and a lack of profitable returns, the restaurant was forced to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on May 20, as previously reported by The Dallas Express. The chain is now looking for a buyer. In the meantime, the restaurant will focus on downsizing and selling what it can to stay afloat.
