Images from the London crime scene as investigation into the double murder at Clifton Suspension Bridge moves to the capital

The first images of a crime scene in west London have been released after investigations into two suitcases containing human remains moved to the capital. Avon and Somerset Police confirmed today (Friday, July 12) that the Metropolitan Police had taken over the investigation into the double murder after evidence suggested a suspect had travelled from London to Bristol with the suitcases.

The suitcases, found on the Clifton Suspension Bridge in the early hours of Thursday 11 July, are believed to contain the bodies of two adult men. Both the Metropolitan Police and Avon and Somerset officers believe the suspect travelled from London to Bristol and then took a taxi to the suspension bridge where he unloaded the suitcases.

Following forensic examinations on the bridge and in nearby Leigh Woods, another crime scene has been identified in Shepherd’s Bush. News site MyLondon has published photos of a cordon around an address on the corner of Scott’s Road and Devonport Road, with forensic officers on site. Police officers confirmed to the publication that the search was related to the manhunt for the suspect.
