Dallas, Texas: Man arrested and charged with murder of 47-year-old

DALLAS – A 40-year-old North Texas man was arrested and charged with murder in the death of a 47-year-old woman, Dallas police said.

The Dallas Police Department (DPD) said officers responded to a 911 call about an armed altercation in the 9500 block of Royal Lane around 7:10 a.m. Friday. When officers arrived, they found 47-year-old Unetria Williams shot to death inside a home, the DPD said.

According to police, Williams died at the scene.

Dallas police said officers identified 40-year-old Demarcus Gates as the suspect who shot Williams. He was arrested and charged with murder, police said.

Jail records show Gates was booked into the Dallas County Detention Center on Friday afternoon and bail was set at $500,000.

What exactly led to the shooting remains unclear. No further information is available.
