X suspends White Dudes for Harris account after $4 million fundraiser, organizer claims Elon Musk got ‘scared’

The White Dudes for Harris (@dudes4harris) account on X, formerly Twitter, was temporarily suspended on Monday after raising $4 million for Kamala Harris. When fans asked why the account was suspended, event organizer Ross Morales Rocketto responded via his personal account that Elon Musk had become “scared.” The SpaceX founder publicly supported Donald Trump earlier this month.

The campaign group held a digital fundraiser on Monday night in support of Harris’ presidential bid. Nearly 200,000 Democrats attended the online rally, including white male celebrities Mark Hamill, Jeff Bridges, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Bradley Whitford, Sean Astin and Josh Groban.

During the event, Bridges told those in attendance, “I accepted the invitation and was brought to the party not because I’m white, which I certainly am, but because I’m a guy, you know, I qualify, man. I’m white, I’m a guy, and I’m for Harris,” according to The Wrap.

After the temporary ban, organizers set up a replacement account under @dudesforharris, which quickly gained over 20,000 followers before the original account was active again. The ban caused surprise among Democrats at Musk, who had previously described himself as a “champion of absolute freedom of speech.”

After the ban was lifted, the group tweeted: “Uh oh… we pissed off @elonmusk (don’t worry… you can’t keep a good guy offline for long).” As the post garnered thousands of views, Democratic supporters accused the Tesla founder of “election interference.”

One wrote: “Haha election interference at its finest LOL.” “Elon Musk will soon find out it’s liberal white men who buy his cars and stocks. ‘I’m a total free speech supporter!'” wrote a second user. A third said: “Elon thinks he’s the king of white men.”
