Two arrests after police chase ends in fiery accident, state police say

NEW ORLEANS – An attempted traffic stop led to a police chase in New Orleans on Monday afternoon.

According to Louisiana State Police, troopers were pursuing a vehicle after the driver allegedly failed to stop to report traffic violations before fleeing the scene. During the chase, the vehicle crashed and caught fire, according to LSP.

Both the driver and another passenger were arrested; neither suffered any injuries in the incident.

State police say officers later learned the vehicle was stolen.

At around 2:30 p.m., video taken by Paris Vincent shows a heavy police presence near the intersection of Mirabeau Avenue and Warrington Drive.
