A newly arrived illegal immigrant kidnaps an 11-year-old girl and rapes her in his white van while her mother screams for help outside

  • An illegal immigrant has been arrested for allegedly raping an 11-year-old girl
  • According to police, the alleged sexual assault occurred in a white van
  • The suspect, Marvin Dionel Perez Lopez, is in custody and charged with rape

A 20-year-old illegal immigrant was arrested after he allegedly kidnapped and raped an 11-year-old girl on the street outside her Florida home last week.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office identified Marvin Dionel Perez Lopez as the girl’s attacker and claimed he forced her into his white van where the alleged sexual assault occurred.

According to police, the child’s mother was looking for her daughter and saw the van not far from where she and Lopez lived. The mother actually caught a glimpse of her daughter and Lopez in the van and began banging on the door, shouting for Lopez to free the girl.

Sheriff’s deputies said Lopez fled the van at that point. The victim’s mother then stopped by Lopez’s apartment, where his brother also lived. Lopez’s brother made him come home, where the mother confronted him.

After listening to Lopez’s pleas for forgiveness, the victim’s mother called 911.

Investigators at the scene interviewed the victim, who told them that Lopez forced himself on her even after she tried to refuse and escape.

At the same time, Lopez tried to escape again, this time through a back window of his apartment. Police noticed Lopez doing this and chased him. It’s not clear if they caught him immediately, but police confirmed Lopez’s arrest on Monday.

An expert told CBS12 that this type of crime is unusual.

“Stranger rape is far less common than acquaintance rape.” “So in most cases it’s someone the person knows,” said Nicole Bishop, director of Palm Beach County Victim Services.

Lopez was taken into custody on charges of kidnapping for the purpose of sexually assaulting a minor, sexual assault of a victim under the age of 12 and resisting an officer without violence.

He is currently being held without bail in the Palm Beach County Jail.
