Man dead after shooting near Fresno schools | YourCentralValley.com

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – One person is dead after a shooting at a Fresno apartment complex Thursday, less than a half-mile from two Fresno schools, according to Fresno police.

According to police, officers responded to an apartment complex near the intersection of Hamilton Avenue and Chance Avenue in Fresno around 11:20 a.m. following a report of a shooting victim. Upon arrival, officers located a man in his mid-20s suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper body.


The scene of the accident is less than half a mile from Vang Pao Elementary School and Sequoia Middle School.

Despite life-saving measures and transport to Community Regional Medical Center, the man was pronounced dead at 11:49 a.m., according to police

According to police, there were some witnesses at the scene and investigators are looking for video surveillance. The police did not provide any information about possible suspects.
