Woman accused of sexually abusing her friend in OC

ORANGE COUNTY, CALIFORNIA – A 27-year-old woman was charged Wednesday with sexually assaulting her girlfriend in Fullerton.

Veronica Dawn Lawson was charged with domestic violence causing personal injury after previously being convicted of domestic violence, sexual penetration with a foreign object and force, false imprisonment and criminal threats, all capital crimes.

Lawson was accused of assaulting her friend on April 23, sexually assaulting and falsely imprisoning her on June 8, and making criminal threats on June 10, the criminal complaint states.

According to the complaint, Fullerton and Buena Park police investigated the alleged attacks.

Lawson pleaded guilty on Oct. 30, 2020, to assault on a domestic partner and malicious damage to property, both misdemeanors, in that case she attacked a friend while they were living together in Anaheim, court records show.

Lawson was sentenced to 12 days in jail and eight hours of community service and was required to attend a therapy program, which she completed, according to court records.
