State Police investigate fatal crash in Frankford – Delaware State Police

Delaware State Police are investigating a fatal car crash that occurred Tuesday evening in Frankford.

On May 28, 2024, at approximately 10:25 p.m., a Honda Accord was traveling northbound on Frankford School Road south of Thatcher Street. As the Honda exited a curve, the driver lost control of the car, causing it to veer off the east side of the road, travel through grass, strike a fence, and enter a ditch, causing it to overturn.

The driver, a 45-year-old Frankford man, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the car. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he died. His name is being withheld pending notification of his family.

The road was closed for about three hours while the accident scene was being investigated and cleared.

The Delaware State Police Troop 7 Collision Reconstruction Unit continues to investigate this incident. Officers are asking anyone who witnessed this accident or has additional information to contact Senior Corporal R. Albert at (302) 703-3266.
