Humberto Hormaza named vice president and general manager of Nexstar Houston

Humberto Hormaza has joined Nexstar Media Group as vice president and general manager of its broadcast and digital operations in Houston.

He will be responsible for overseeing the long-term strategy and day-to-day operations of KIAH-TV (CW), cw39.com and their associated digital and social media channels.

He took up his new position on May 13.

Hormaza moved to Texas from Hartford, Connecticut, where he was president and general manager of Tegna’s FOX and CW affiliates (WTIC-WCCT) since March 2022.

He previously spent 8 years at Entravision Communications in Orlando, in various roles before being promoted to SVP and General Manager in 2016.

Hormaza’s more than 20-year career includes local sales director positions at WJAN and WFUN and led the launch of now-defunct MundoFOX in Miami from 2011-2014.
