Police arrest man for raping 9-year-old niece in Adamawa

A 25-year-old man in Adamawa State has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting his nine-year-old niece.

The Adamawa State Police Command, which carried out the arrest, identified the man as Abdu Hamidu, a native of Kwakwa in Hong Local Government Area.

He is said to have lured the little girl into his room and had carnal knowledge of her.

In a statement released on Tuesday by its spokesman, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, the command said the suspect was arrested last Saturday, May 4.

The arrest followed a complaint lodged at the Kala’a Division Headquarters by the girl’s father, who happens to be a brother of the suspect.
